Digitalizing KONE’s marketing, sales and customer interactions is one of the key areas in KONE’s new “Sustainable success with customers” strategy. We aim to create a seamless, unified customer experience across multiple channels. Commercial and Operations Solutions unit within KONE IT is designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting the marketing, sales and customer focused solutions. Our purpose is to enable superior customer experience and high-rising sales by transforming how KONE interacts with customers. In the center of the tendering and ordering process, we have a highly complex and business critical CPQ (Configure-Price-Quote) solution, which gives KONE global front line sales teams the capability to engage early with customers, understand the needs and create tenders to customers linked to the order management process. The solution is constantly developed to support the sales process better, but also due to its central nature, its data and Configure, Price and Quote capabilities are used via APIs in multiple other customer-facing, sales and even installation processes as well as a source for analytics. We are now looking for a Solution Architect - Modernization to join our team. Solution Architect leads the end-to-end technical design of a solution that consist of several applications/solutions, in alignment with the long-term KONE IT, solution strategy, and business requirements. Such solutions typically span across several teams and include significant technical complexity. With the Enterprise Architects you will create the vision for the overall solution landscape consisting of several integrated systems and processes, and how these fits in the overall enterprise architecture. Solution Architect defines and communicates the solution architecture and guides the solution development teams. Solution Architect also collaborates with multiple stakeholders in finding solutions for acute business needs and technical problems in collaboration with Solution Design Owners, Configuration Owners and other Architects. Your first task in the role will be to review the current state of the solution architecture including integrations with key systems, followed by the design to optimize the capabilities of the existing technology stack and taking advantage of the modern architectural best practices (e.g., APIs, microservices, layering of the architecture). The position is based in Espoo, Finland and you will report to the Solution Owner, Modernization Solutions, within the Commercial Operations Solution Team in KONE IT. Your responsibilities and key activities Design and implement roadmap for the next level application architecture. Support defining platform architecture framework and alignment with other business line tendering and ordering solutions. Guide, lead, and validate technology decisions together with the external partners. Continually research the current and emerging technologies and propose changes where needed. Participate in continuous improvement efforts by providing guidance and expertise to the development teams. Be the single point of contact for technical and architectural topics for stakeholders and team members. Requirements for the role Bachelor or master degree Computer Science or other relevant engineering degree. At least 10 years of experience in solution architecture in a commercial environment. Fluent in working with business stakeholders, able to bring complex topics to an understandable level. Business mindset to understand the commercial drivers of the stakeholders, able to utilize architecture to support business growth. Expert in solution development processes with strong analytic skills and able to interpret complex information and adapts it as needed. Experience in CPQ or Sales Configuration solutions is highly preferred (e.g., CAMOS), but the experience from interfacing or related platforms, such as sales lead and customer data (e.g., Salesforce CRM), Product structure and configuration systems (PDM), or SAP platform (sales or ordering modules) is an asset. Hands-on experience of (scaled) agile methodology and DevOps. Experience with frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, XP is an advantage. Solid experienced in solutions integration both in data, process and application architecture is required. Good understand of the digital landscape to identify risks and opportunities found in emerging and disruptive technologies. Good knowledge of common database technologies, such as MSSQL, Postgres, MySQL, and mobile and web technologies (HTML5, REST, ReactJS, NodeJS, AngularJS). Experience in working in an international environment with ability to perform in virtual organizations. Very good collaboration and communication skills in English, ability to work independently, and ability to work in virtual teams in a multicultural environment.
