The School of Electrical Electronic Engineering (EEE) is part of the Engineering cluster in SP and takes the lead in educating engineering technologists to support the nation’s growth and development. Reporting to the Project Leader, the appointee will bepart of the project team in the Robotics, Automation and Control Tech Hub within School of EEE. The Robotics, Automation and Control Tech Hub aims to develop automation and robotics solutions to meet the emerging industry 4.0 needs for the manufacturing industry in Singapore. The appointee will be responsible for the development of innovative solutions for industrial partners in the area of robotics and manufacturing applications, and will be expected to support various administrative tasks, which includes dealing with procurement, coordinating and assisting Project Leader in various aspects of the project. Responsibilities:- Conduct research in an interdisciplinary team involving the design and optimization of innovative solutions and processes. Develop models of manufacturing processes and systems. Design and conduct experiments to calibrate and validate these models. Work across organizations, including government agencies, institutes of higher learning, and SMEs, to define project objectives and technical approach, and meet project deliverables. Communicate progress internally and externally through oral presentations, internal reports, and as appropriate through external communications including conference presentations and publications, to engineering and leadership teams. Communicate findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, which may involve creating reports, visualizations, or presentations. Work in a multi-disciplinary environment with specialists in data science, electronics, mechanics, manufacturing, and other fields. Partner with Singapore research institutes to develop advanced AI techniques and assist with validation and knowledge transfer of outsourced projects. Requirements:- Relevant Qualification in Computer/Electronics Engineering Preferably 3 years of relevant working experience in manufacturing process development. Candidate without working experience are also welcome to apply. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturing. Expertise in robotics including programming, deployment, including of ROS software. Good programming skills in Python, C++ or similar languages. Broad knowledge of automation control with PLC, HMI, EtherCat, ModBus, etc. Knowledge of vision system for object identification and classification. Knowledge of CAD design. Understanding of Cloud Computing and Linux System. Keen interest in RD involving coding and data processing. Desire to have experience with deep learning and AI. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently and in large multidisciplinary teams. Familiarity with project management This will be a project-based appointment and successful appointee will be placed on a 2-year contract.
