Gorgonzola hosts Navigations Air Systems (NAS) domain. The activity of NAS domain: avionics, navigation and radar systems for civil air traffic and technologies supporting the activities of civilian and military pilots, ATC controllers and technicians of several airlines, air traffic control agencies and Air Force around the world. Italy is the Group’s Competence center for the design, production and delivery of Navigation Aids products and Competence Centre for the delivery of non-Radar Surveillance Products. Responsibilities • Participate to an integrated agile engineering team composed by several disciplines as Cyber, Software, Mechanics, Radio frequency, Safety, Designer, service, manufacturing … in order to develop new products or propose improvement of existing products, • Perform studies and simulation in order to validate innovating concepts and verify the performance of these innovations on the real system • Produce and maintain product System Specifications and the product external interfaces • Analyze the System/Subsystem Specification (SSS) requirements to determine collectively the relevant modifications to the hardware, software, • Support the hardware and software teams in the specifications and the interfaces of the sub systems of the product • Prepare the integration system by defining the test strategy, writing the test procedure and conduct integration, verification and qualification tests Required Skills and Experience: • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience or Masters with 4+ years’ experience • Master degree in Engineering in one or several following disciplines : Electronic, Digital, Telecom, Mechanical, Radio frequency • Have an experience on system engineering development • Have an overall engineer knowledge: Electronic, Software, Telecom, mechanical, Radio frequency and engineering process. • Have good knowledge of standard Office tools (e.g. MS Office) • Have a team spirit in order to find collectively the most effective way to reach the team objectives • Capacity to solve complex problem by himself or by requesting support and explain in a synthetic way how to solve them, • English and Italian fluent is a must, ability to speak additional languages as German or French is a benefit. The candidate should: • Have a basic knowledge of Navaids equipment’s such as ILS, VOR, TACAN, DME, ADSB, MLAT, WAM… and in the technical field of air traffic management and on the various regulations / standards such as EN, ICAO or specific local standards. • Proficient in the use of issue tracking software (e.g. Jira) • Proficient in the use of requirement management tools (e.g. DOORS) • Self-motivated, critical thinker with strong curiosity to learn • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills At Thales we provide CAREERS and not only jobs.
