We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Accountant to join project Marshall, a major Air Traffic Management (ATM) delivery programme to the UK MOD. The scope of Thales delivery covers the provision of integrated surveillance assets including static, deployed and other radar systems, communications equipment, network capability and centralised ATM capability. What the role has to offer: Working in a team delivering a £250m programme into MoD Opportunity to engage with multiple stakeholders across the project, business line and joint venture Opportunity to work in a fast paced, exciting and dynamic environment Ability to drive continuous improvement Key responsibilities: Ensure that forecast orders, sales and invoicing are updated on a regular basis including identifying RO’s monthly Assist in the completion of the Program Dashboards and CSR Monitor project expenditure and delivery with a tight focus on cash milestones. Support Program Managers to understand actual costs incurred Support Programme Managers to ensure costs to completion estimates and estimates at completion (EAC) for programmes are correctly reflected Proactive in identifying cost savings Monitor and report on risks associated with Program Play an active part in the reconciliation of project costs within oracle and manage monthly reconciliations Support the Head of Finance in preparation of annual budgets (MYB) and forecasts Consolidate all Marshall subcontracts into Anaplan and understand the movements in their local EAC’s Participate and challenge in bid process and support commercial on claims Support the closure of the project About You Ideally, you’ll: Be educated to degree level (preferably in a finance, or related discipline) and hold a professional accounting qualification - desirable not essential Have proven experience of Project Accounting within an engineering/manufacturing/construction/defence background Have a good understanding of commercial and financial aspects of the business Be comfortable working with and proposing solutions to complex issues Have the ability to present and explain the implication of complex business issues Be able to interact with non-finance managers and individuals at all levels in the business Be flexible to work in a changing environment Be highly proficient in Excel Benefits at Thales We strive to create an environment where you can prioritise your wellbeing and have designed our benefits to give you the flexibility and power to do so.
