Position Overview:

A CNC Machine Operator specializing in metal sheet cutting, bending, and drawing is responsible for the operation and maintenance of computer numerical control (CNC) machines used in the manufacturing process.

The operator must possess a strong understanding of CNC machinery, particularly in metal fabrication processes such as cutting, bending, and drawing.

Key Responsibilities :

Machine Setup : Set up CNC machines according to job specifications, including loading metal sheets onto the machine, installing appropriate cutting or bending tools, and configuring machine settings.

Programming : Input and modify CNC programs to ensure accurate cutting, bending, and drawing of metal sheets. This may involve reading and interpreting technical drawings, adjusting machine parameters, and troubleshooting programming errors.

Operation : Operate CNC machines to execute cutting, bending, and drawing processes on metal sheets. Monitor machine operation to ensure quality and efficiency, making adjustments as necessary to maintain production standards.

Quality Control : Inspect finished parts to verify conformance to specifications, including dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish.

Identify and address any defects or irregularities in the finished product.

Maintenance : Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn components.

Troubleshoot mechanical issues and coordinate repairs as needed to minimize downtime.

Safety Compliance : Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Follow proper handling and disposal guidelines for materials and waste generated during the manufacturing process.

Documentation : Maintain accurate records of production activities, including job setups, program modifications, inspection results, and maintenance logs.

Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to relay important information regarding job status and production issues.

Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement in CNC machining operations.

Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to implement innovative solutions and best practices.

Qualifications :

High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in CNC machining is preferred.

Proven experience operating CNC machines, particularly in metal fabrication processes such as cutting, bending, and drawing.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Knowledge of CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code) and software (e.g., CAM / CAD) is advantageous.

Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
