The Department of Student Development (SD) aspires to provide all SP students with a positive Polytechnic experience through quality learning and development beyond the curriculum. As part of the Programme Planning team, the appointee will be required to develop and implement long-term strategies to align departmental goals with the Holistic Student Development Framework, analyze data to drive improvements in programmes, processes, and operations, and maintain effective communication channels for stakeholder engagement. He/she will also manage and mentor student CCA groups and oversee Workplace Safety, Health, and Environment matters for the department. He/she should be open to job mobility. Responsibilities:- Strategic Planning Developing, refining and implementing mid to long-term strategies and plans to align the department's goals with the Holistic Student Development Framework. Conducting industry scanning, identifying growth opportunities and setting objectives in student development. Collaborate with sections for programme reviews to set goals, establish key performance indicators, and monitor progress. Establish and evaluate meaningful and value-added partnerships both internally and externally to foster partnerships that support student development. Lead or assist in ad-hoc special projects/institutional events when required. Data Strategy Collect, analyse and interpret data and feedback to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Assess department performance and make data-driven recommendations to improve programmes, processes and operations. Lead assessment efforts to measure programme outcomes and impact. Monitoring and tracking of goals and data for the department. Workplace Safety, Health, and Environment Monitor and ensure compliance with workplace safety, health, and environmental regulations, standards, processes/workflow and policies. Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate identified risks in the workplace. Lead or assist in the investigation of incidents, accidents, or near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Lead in emergency response plans, ensuring adequate preparedness for various scenarios. Oversee the management of Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) clubs in SP. This includes: Planning and implementing programmes to develop clubs in SP (e.g. club development rubrics) Guiding and developing students, managing administrative matters for the clubs. Requirements:- At least 2 years relevant working experience, with a strong interest and track record in strategic planning, data analytics, and Workplace Safety, Health, and Environment, preferably in education or student development. Familiar with data visualization and business intelligence tools used for analyzing and presenting data (e.g. Power BI and Tableau) Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Display a passion for student development and working with youths. Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present ideas, proposals and business opportunities to internal and external stakeholders. Meticulous with strong operational and administrative skills Demonstrates ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, displays initiative. Successful applicant will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
