Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will provide safe, efficient, and reliable engineering services to the Maintenance Engineering department.First and foremost, you will live the Anglo American values of Safety by consistently applying the Safety Health principles in all site interactions and take full ownership for safety on site.The key responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer are:Establish and maintain compliant, safe, efficient, reliable and cost effective maintenance engineering systems and procedures for the minePrepare detailed designs / specifications and scopes of workAssist with specification and scoping of equipment overhaulsEstablish fit-for-purpose standards, systems and strategies to optimise the management of maintenance plant and equipmentSupport the Maintenance Engineering Department in the implementation of Anglo American Coal systems and comply with guidelines to ensure quality and minimum legislative standards are metIn consultation with the relevant supervisors and team members, identify feasibility options for new equipment purchases; develop maintenance technical specifications for new equipment purchasesIn consultation with the Contract Coordinator, manage the tender preparation, tender evaluation and contract award processIn consultation with the relevant supervisors and team members, manage the assembly and commissioning of the equipment; Update the maintenance management system as required and identify any training requirementsProactively identify and flag maintenance specific challenges and opportunities that new technology could address
