Job Description: Job Title Production Engineer Corporate Title Associate Location New York, NY Overview The Production Engineer is a technical specialist with expertise in one or more technical domains. Being engaged in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). You will contribute effectively to all the phases of the SDLC. Starting with the planning phase, you will review upcoming changes from production support perspective, make simple to medium complexity code changes, participate in demos leading all the way up to smooth product ionization of release changes. They will continually drive automation in production processes ensuring minimal manual processes in day-to-day production support activities. What We Offer You A diverse and inclusive environment that embraces change, innovation, and collaboration A hybrid working model, allowing for in-office / work from home flexibility, generous vacation, personal and volunteer days Employee Resource Groups support an inclusive workplace for everyone and promote community engagement Competitive compensation packages including health and wellbeing benefits, retirement savings plans, parental leave, and family building benefits Educational resources, matching gift, and volunteer programs What You’ll Do Responsible for technical analysis of production platforms technology stack to identify resiliency and performance enhancements, continuous analysis of production issues and feedback bug fixes into application backlog for future sprints and releases, and analysis to build robust information security framework around the application Devise non-functional requirements (NFR) with thorough due diligence, while responsible for prioritization of change by application and flow, creating stories for production engineer owned changes for entry into release process, as well as attending and facilitating program and project planning meeting to prioritize bug fixes, resiliency and performance enhancements, clearly articulate potential benefits in form of user stories and acceptance criteria Review and represent upcoming features stories for production support aspects, add relevant acceptance criteria, develop automated production processes including Service Level Agreements (SLAs), as well as maintain NFR, review requirements and specification, assist in defining and creating test conditions, as well as identify and resolve issues with applications, use application management software and tools to collect agreed performance statistics, carry out agreed application maintenance tasks Design, code, test, and document simple to complex code pursuant to provided requirements and agreed design principles, in addition to delivering change to and through tooling including Ansible, monitoring and batch management, acting as key member of the project team to provide updates, highlighting any risks and concerns, actively monitoring for and seeking opportunities, new methods, trends, capabilities, and products to the advancement of the organization, and maintaining knowledge of specific specialisms, providing detailed advice regarding the application, and executing specialized tasks Own process of tracking manual tasks and identifying means of automation, employing both strategic and short-term tactical automation means, as well as encourage and motivate colleagues to share creative ideas and learn from failures, build a list of change by application and flow, postmortem of incidents agreeing in root cause and full remediation, and participate in deployments, post deployment checks, and sign off application readiness Identify dependencies and build monitoring solutions encompassing the entire value stream, instead of single applications, provide demo of functionality being delivered, build for assigned user stories/requirements to product owners/project managers and seek agreement, and participate and provide input for lessons learnt sessions for sprints and projects Skills You’ll Need Moderate overall Information Technology (IT) experience Service Operations experience within a global operations context and experience in IT in large corporate environments, specifically in the area of controlled production environments or in Financial Services Technology in a client-facing function Experience of end-to-end Level 2 management and good overview of Production/Operations Management overall, run-book execution, and supporting complex application and infrastructure domains IITIL / best practice service context with working knowledge of incident tracking tools (i.e., Remedy, Heat, ServiceNow etc.) and strong knowledge of Oracle databases, including working experience of writing scripts and queries Working experience on UNIX/Linux, Solaris, Java J2EE, shell scripts, secure connectivity and protocols, Monitoring Tools (Geneos/Nagios), Scheduling Tools (Control-M/AutoSys), ITIL Framework Skills That Will Help You Excel Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken Good analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work in virtual teams and in matrix structures Global Transaction Banking / Corporate and Investment Banking Experience is a plus Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science or IT-related discipline (or equivalent work experience or diploma) and ITIL Foundation Certificate, PMP certification from PMI and CTP certification would be a plus Expectations It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model. The salary range for this position in New York City is $75,000 to $110,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.
