Job Description: Job Title Production Specialist Corporate Title Assistant Vice President Location New York, NY Overview The Ultra Low Latency (ULL) team is responsible for the management of Deutsche Bank’s premier ULL trading platforms spanning 21 datacenters in 7 countries providing algorithmic execution, market data, and post-trade services covering over a dozen critical business applications in Foreign Exchange (FX), Rates, Credit, and Commodities. As the Production Specialist, you will be expected to balance between fast response (e.g. electronic trading monitoring and incident management) and longer term activities (e.g. DevOps, release planning, security and audit reviews). A single day or even a single hour is likely to see a mix of both. Team members will become equally proficient at working with development and engineering to understand a low-level UNIX issue costing microseconds and directly assisting head of desk to set appropriate controls for risks in the millions. What We Offer You A diverse and inclusive environment that embraces change, innovation, and collaboration A hybrid working model, allowing for in-office / work from home flexibility, generous vacation, personal and volunteer days Employee Resource Groups support an inclusive workplace for everyone and promote community engagement Competitive compensation packages including health and wellbeing benefits, retirement savings plans, parental leave, and family building benefits Educational resources, matching gift, and volunteer programs What You’ll Do Raise incidents for production issues, track, escalate (if necessary) and build knowledge repository of known problems React quickly to resolving day-to-day incidents Deploy automated checkpoints in production monitoring tools to quickly identify problem Take active participation in production deployments / releases of continuous integration/continuous deployment or development (CI/CD) pipeline Smooth shift hand-over of open incidents / tickets to regional teams Interact with members of global production team to communicate status on active major incidents or problem tickets Skills You’ll Need Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent qualification/work experience Unix/Linux (RedHat preferred) experience with strong Linux command line and process management, as well as hands-on experience with shell scripting – Python, Perl, and Bash Experience with Databases: Structured Query Language (SQL) (Oracle or MySQL) queries, as well as Networks: Good understanding of Traded Credit Positions (TCP)/IP, UDP, DNS, and Electronic Trading experience with trading protocols (e.g. FIX), market data protocols will be a plus Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, and ITRS Geneos Exposure to Google Cloud technologies will be a plus Skills That Will Help You Excel Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate directly with business and technical partners at all levels Trading protocols experience (e.g. FIX), market data protocols will be a plus Expectations It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model. The salary range for this position in New York City is $85,000 to $140,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.
