Location(s): Japan City/Cities: Tokyo Travel Required: 00% - 25% Relocation Provided: No Job Posting End Date: February 23, 2024 Shift: Job Description Summary: Summary As a paralegal in the Japan and South Korea Operating Unit Legal team, provide legal support to the other team members (legal counsels in particular) as well as business clients and other stakeholders. Also provide administrative support to the team as necessary. What You’ll Do for Us Provide support to put in place appropriate legal documentation. Provide support to complete corporate registration process, as necessary. Play an active role in the contract execution/retention process, collaborating with various stakeholders. Manage the contract template database and be the point of contacts for any inquiries that the Japan and South Korea Operating Unit Legal team receives from the business clients. Review of marketing promotion terms and conditions as well as some other marketing, advertising and PR materials, to ensure the compliance with applicable laws as well as the company policies. Preparation and review of certain local contracts and other legal documentation. Monitor local laws and regulations and keep the other members of the Japan and South Korea Operating Unit Legal team as well as internal stakeholders apprised of any new enactment or amendment which may impact our business or future growth opportunities. Support the team members on training sessions given to the business clients. Provide any other legal and administrative support to the team members upon request. Play an active role in supporting the operation of the Japan and South Korea Operating Unit Legal team. As a member of the Japan and South Korea Operating Unit Legal team, some of the work will require collaboration with the team members based in Korea as well as the legal professionals located in the other locations. Qualifications Requirements Bachelor’s degree (preferably in law). Preferably at least 2 to 3 years of experience working in a law firm or in-house legal department or function as a paralegal. Legal research capability and legal mindset. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Communication skill in Japanese and English to participate in the discussions within the Japan and South Korea Operating Unit as well as within the global legal community. Ability to determine and understand client objectives and risk tolerance and provide input to legal team members related to same. Ability to develop and effectively communicate sound advice and/or analysis, including the suggestion of alternative solutions and best practices while taking into account client's role, objectives and risk tolerance.
