Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated graduate intern to join our Legal Practice and Productivity (LPP) – Document Intelligence and Drafting team. The intern will work on projects related to the automation of legal workflows, helping to increase efficiency and improve client service delivery. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for both law and technology and an interest in how machine learning and GenAI could be used to create innovative solutions. Key Responsibilities: 1. Research and Analysis: Conduct research on existing legal workflows and processes. Identify opportunities for automation, federated learning Analyze the client requirements and the limitations of current systems. 2. Design and Development: Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept GenAI-based applications Collaborate with software developers and subject matter experts to ensure that automation tools meet the end-user needs. 3. Testing and Documentation: Participate in the testing and performance evaluation of the developed tool Documentation of developed approach and test results Provide feedback and recommendations on usability and functionality to the development and product team. Qualifications: Enrollment in or recent graduation from a graduate program in law, computer science, information technology, or a related field. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to apply large language models (e.g., GPT-4), fine-tuning and prompting. Experience in applying GenAI/ML using Python or C#. REST API interface design and implementation Cloud-based software: Azure or AWS Software collaboration and version control (e.g., Github) Event Sourced architectural patterns Duration: 8 months (May-Dec 2024). In addition to the tasks listed, the intern should be prepared to take on ad hoc tasks as they arise and be flexible to the changing needs of the legal tech industry. What's in it For You?
