See yourself in our team Our Risk and Regulatory Reporting team is responsible for the building the tools to meet a moving regulatory landscape – We cover the transformation of data from trade systems into aggregation and calculations/reporting for business teams to monitor our compliance. As an Engineering Senior Manager, you'll be a "leader" within our data domain. Driving engineering best practices and standards, creating a culture of challenging the status quo, and leading new innovative ways of working in an agile environment. You'll play an important role in the Market Risk and Credit Risk leadership team, partnering with senior stakeholders, influencing the future of their technology estate, and driving the delivery of features. You'll be coaching and mentoring engineers, raising the bar for the discipline, and creating a trusted and enjoyable working culture giving freedom for engineers to solve business problems. What skills do you need to be successful Build, lead and inspire an engaged team of Engineers. Empower team to manage their work appropriately, respond to queries, address impediments and problem solve technical issues. Provide effective coaching to Engineers and establish mechanisms for peer to peer learning and mentoring. Understand how to foster and lead diverse teams and demonstrate commitment to doing so. Role model a culture of engineering empowerment, autonomy, psychological safety and constructive challenge. Understand unique skill sets of team members, providing personalised feedback and guidance. Communicate to senior management and key stakeholders to ensure clear path to execution. Communicate Engineering Practice standards and consistent ways of working across the domain and CBA that align to industry standards. Allocate time for code review, refactoring and tech debt elimination over feature delivery. Tech skills We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team. Ab Initio suite (GDE, Express It with BRE, Query Engine and Web services), Oracle, Tableau, AWS is a plus!
