[What the role is] Deputy Manager, Financial Planning [What you will be working on] You will be part of a Finance team responsible for leading the budgeting process re-engineering and new budget system development. You will be responsible to support a smooth implementation of the new budget system as well as provide ongoing operational support to users. You will be involved in the data migration activity to liaise with Business users to obtain, collate and cleanse data sources, and ensure that data migration activities proceed as planned. You will also participate actively in the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to review test scripts, perform the UAT and ensure that defects are properly logged and resolved. You will be required to understand the system functionalities, workflows and dependencies in order to effectively identify potential solutions for proposal and implementation and support user system testing. You will need to ensure system documentation is complete and up-to-date, prepare the relevant system/module for 'go live', prepare training and new SOP documents (where applicable), support end user training and archival of documents. You should be able to write proposals for business process changes and provide updates to management on status of projects. [What we are looking for] • Tertiary Qualification in Accountancy or Finance • 4 to 8 years job experience in a finance/accounting/reporting environment with experience in budget planning in the public sector. • IT-savvy, resourceful, analytical and innovative • Able to work independently and perform under pressure and tight timelines • Good communication and interpersonal skills, teamwork oriented. • Hands on experience in Budgeting system implementation or working experience implementing IT projects relating to financial systems (e.g. SAP, IBM) will be an advantage The Singapore Public Service plays a key role in the economic growth, progress and stability of Singapore by formulating and implementing government policies, as well as providing key public services.
