The Facility Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and safety of an organization's physical facilities. This includes managing the daily operations of buildings, grounds, and infrastructure, ensuring that all facilities are maintained to the highest standards, and meeting the needs of the organization and its occupants. The Facility Manager plays a key role in planning, budgeting, and coordinating facility-related activities to support the organization's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintenance and Operations:

Oversee the daily operations of all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security.
Ensure that all facilities are clean, well-maintained, and fully operational.
Coordinate routine maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime and disruption.

- Safety and Compliance:

Ensure that all facilities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety, environmental, and accessibility standards.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.

- Space Planning and Utilization:

Optimize space utilization within the facility to meet the organization's needs.
Coordinate office moves, furniture installations, and space reconfigurations.
Work with departments to ensure that space needs are met efficiently and cost-effectively.

- Vendor and Contractor Management:

Manage relationships with external service providers, including maintenance contractors, cleaning services, and security personnel.
Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to ensure quality services at competitive rates.
Monitor vendor performance and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.

- Budgeting and Financial Management:

Develop and manage the facility budget, including maintenance, repairs, utilities, and capital improvements.
Track and control expenses to ensure they align with budgetary goals.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce facility-related expenses.
Sustainability and Energy Management:

Implement energy-efficient practices and technologies to reduce the facility's environmental impact.
Monitor energy usage and implement initiatives to reduce consumption and costs.
Promote sustainability initiatives within the organization.\

- Project Management:

Plan and oversee facility-related projects, including renovations, expansions, and upgrades.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Monitor project progress and address any issues that arise.

- Communication and Reporting:

Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders, including building occupants, senior management, and external vendors.
Provide regular reports on facility performance, maintenance activities, and project progress.
Address occupant concerns and requests in a timely and efficient manner.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

- 5+ years of experience in facility management or a related field.

- Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
Excellent project management and organizational skills.

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively.

- Certification in Facility Management (e.g., IFMA, BOMA) is preferred.
