Role Overview:
We at UNii Engineering are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architect Design Manager to oversee the design and execution of architectural projects from conception through completion starting immediately.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and design skills, with the ability to manage a team of architects and designers while collaborating with clients, consultants, and contractors. The Design Manager will ensure the delivery of high-quality, innovative, and sustainable architectural solutions that align with our firm's standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the architectural design process for various projects, including residential, commercial, mixed-use, and institutional developments.
Oversee design teams, ensuring timely delivery of design packages that meet project specifications, budget, and deadlines.
Coordinate with project stakeholders (clients, contractors, consultants, and authorities) to ensure seamless collaboration and integration of design requirements.
Review and validate architectural designs, drawings, and technical documentation to ensure they align with project goals and local regulations.
Drive the development of creative and innovative design solutions that reflect industry trends, sustainability, and technological advancements.
Monitor project progress, identify design issues, and resolve them efficiently to maintain project timelines and quality standards.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior architects and designers within the team.
Prepare and present design concepts, proposals, and presentations to clients and stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment with project objectives.
Oversee the coordination of multidisciplinary teams, including structural, MEP, and landscape consultants, ensuring a fully integrated design process.
Ensure compliance with local building codes, health and safety regulations, and international best practices.
Collaborate with the project management team to ensure smooth handover from design to construction phases.
Participate in the preparation of tenders, RFPs, and other technical documentation as required.
Stay updated on the latest design trends, materials, and technologies, integrating them into project design strategies.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from a recognized institution.
Minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience in architectural design, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role in the UAE .
Proven experience managing complex, large-scale architectural projects across different sectors (residential, commercial, etc.).
Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, building codes, local regulations, and sustainable design practices.
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to present and communicate complex design ideas clearly to clients and stakeholders.
Experience working in the UAE or the Middle East, with knowledge of regional regulations and market trends.
Professional accreditation (e.g., RIBA, AIA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
