It is currently an exciting time at National Jet Systems as we look forward to introducing the Airbus A220 into our fleet. We are currently accepting applications for the role of Aircraft Training Captain on the A220 fleet. You will be responsible to the Head of Aircraft Training and Checking (HATC) for the performance of training duties in the aircraft, and other duties as described below. To be selected for this role, you will have: A220 type rating Minimum 500 hours A220 Pilot in Command Minimum 1000 hours on jet aircraft 40t MTOW Minimum 4000 hours total experience Previous experience as a training captain on jet aircraft 40t MTOW Australian ATPL, or ICAO ATPL with ability to transfer to Australian ATPL Demonstrate above proficient non-technical skills and an in-depth understanding of the impact of human factors on performance Display excellent interpersonal skills and communication abilities Demonstrate an inclusive and respectful leadership qualities Have a proven ability to work as part of a team Maintain an exemplary standard of professionalism, integrity and ethics, along with a high standard of conduct and behaviour consistent with Qantas values Have a high level of motivation Role and Responsibilities: Conducting training in the aircraft, from both seats; Conducting line checks Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of NJS Operations Manual Suite, and relevant regulatory documents Making recommendations to the HATC in relation to procedures for increasing safety on our fleet Providing a positive and caring training culture for all trainees Demonstrating strong leadership by displaying high standards of conduct and behaviour consistent with our Qantas values Being flexible and sensitive when dealing with different viewpoints, styles, and cultures, and promoting and embracing diversity in line with our Qantas values Participation in Training Review Committee meetings, as requested by the HATC Attending and participating in personal development days and training meetings Providing reports to the HATC each bid period, highlighting identified training issues and trends Facilitation of ground training courses, where applicable Other duties as requested by the HATC The Qantas Group is an equal opportunity employer, so by coming to work for us, you’ll be part of an organisation that encourages diversity, supports charities and environmental initiatives.
