Job Description A successful candidate for this position must possess both deep and wide understanding of complex information systems spanning from Edge to Cloud. As a Lead Software Test Engineer, you will work on different aspects of the testing of data platform deliverables. This position is part of a job family. Experience will be the determining factor for position level and compensation This role reports to the Software Engineering Manager and is located in Pune What you will do Designs, creates, executes, and maintains tests. Participates in reviews of documents, designs, code, test cases and user documentation. Develops automated tests, monitors the results, and reports software defects Supports the team in functional and system requirements analysis required to design and verify added and changed functionality. Responsible for Sprint Planning including breakdown of user stories into smaller tasks that can be estimated in hours. Understanding of various design patterns for enterprise applications Experience with test automation and scripting languages Familiarity with common development tools as Eclipse, SVN, GitLab, JUnit, JIRA, Jenkins, ANT and Maven Effectively teams with others through mutually supportive professional relationships, open and direct communication, honesty, and respect. Thinks outside the box and is willing to research and explore new avenues to overcome obstacles by utilizing the latest technologies and standards. Able to learn and understand complex system concepts. Minimal qualifications Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any other Engineering, with concentration in software; or equivalent knowledge in the areas of software engineering (software requirements analysis, software design, software testing) desired. Experience on working on Cloud first applications services Experience in writing Automated test cases, preferably on API first products Experience in setting up and maintaining frameworks for Test Automation and Performance Testing Experience in writing automated tests in Java, Python or JavaScript, Karate, Typescript etc. Experience with REST, GraphQL and gRPC based APIs Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle and Test team’s roles in different lifecycle phases Experience with Agile methodologies, like Scrum, SAFe Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs Direct experience collaborating with local and global teams Strong interpersonal and English communication (verbal and written) Preferred qualifications Experience with Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development Experience in performing quality assurance testing - functional, performance (load, stress, reliability) and regression Experience in using performance monitoring tools like Apache JMeter etc. Experience in database (e.g., PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle, Cassandra, etc.) Good understanding of modern software delivery practices like rapid prototyping, CI/CD, containerization, virtualization etc. and various test strategies like TDD / BDD Knowledge of security testing, penetration testing and performance testing. Strong familiarity with Linux and its operation, configuration, file-system, networking, and security; Must know how to analyze Linux system logs for errors, issues, performance bottlenecks Strong experience with the Microsoft Technology stack and Azure.
