Overview We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate Senior Software Engineer to join our team as we strive to deliver excellence to our customers. You're a self-starter who will be part of a ReverseProxy team working on our edge solution of our Desktop Platform Technology assets. Job Description The role will collaborate with the Engineering Manager and with the team which has embraced an Agile approach to deliver improvements which drive the growth of the capability. You will lead all aspects of the analysis, definition, design, implementation, testing, maintenance and support, working closely with our Quality Engineers and Reliability Engineers to ensure that what we deliver is to a high standard. You will focus on providing the best-in class solutions by applying consistent development best-practices methodologies and principles covering the full software development lifecycle. Writes new software, makes modifications to existing software, or integrates software applications and modules in accordance with agreed upon specifications provided by others Creates and drives unit testing and integration testing ensuring module meets requirements Completes provided design May provide technical support to operations or other development teams Creates and maintains all required user documentation / manual related to assigned components to ensure supportability. Makes suggestions for problem solutions or software enhancements, which will typically be reviewed by a more senior developer. Implements solutions as advised within standards Participates in project planning sessions with team members to analyze development requirements, provide design options, and provide work breakdown and estimates of work. Typically works on one project at a time and as a member of the project team(s) or as part of a specialist cross-project team on multiple developments. Works on smaller, minimally sophisticated projects or a particular system or application within larger projects that requires a singular area of expertise Provides status updates for own scope of work within projects. Participates in internal team and status meetings. Develops software using well-adapted software development processes, adhering to team/company standards and software guidelines, and corporate policies. Technical Skills: - 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering - Confirmed experience with Python, C or another language close to System - Understand how systems work, from high level to the finest detail - Web: HTTP, TLS, REST APIs, DNS, TCP - Cloud technology AWS (VPC, ELB, EC2, S3...) - ReverseProxy Servers: Nginx, Apache, Varnish, Kong - Deployment pipelines: Jenkins, Gitlab - Linux, Docker containerization - Intermediate or higher level of English (B2) Preferred experiences: - Can balance role between multiple "hats" of Software Engineer, Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineering, System Administration or Automation QA seamlessly. - Experience on critical project with low latency high availability constraints across the world. - Experience on large company preferred - Experience on OpenSource project and Linux systems - Experience on delivering platform service to internal or external customers - Basic Understanding of Scrum, Agile ceremonies Benefits: We are looking for intellectually curious people, passionate about the bigger picture of how technology industry is evolving, ready to ask difficult questions and deal with complicated scenarios!
