NTU Shared Services (NSS) is a centralized unit within Nanyang Technological University (NTU) that provides a wide range of administrative, operational, and support services to various departments and units within the university. We are currently looking for an Assistant Manager, Financial Aid. The incumbent will assist the manager to plan, organize and manage the overall operation of financial aid including application, review, offer, data management and system enhancement. We are looking for candidate who is highly passionate in helping our students with their financial aid matters. The incumbent will work with the team to provide high level of customer service to students and institutional partners and provides financial counselling/recommendation of appropriate financial aid schemes based on students’ needs. Responsibilities: Supervises day-to-day activities related to Financial Aid including planning application, review and offer for the various financial schemes including but not limited to bursaries and loans. Operationalize changes in policies, procedures and systems including system enhancement, revision of SOP and training guide for staff required to capture the changes. Supervises, guides, and trains staff in the delivery of Financial Aid Services. Assists students and partnering stakeholders in complex interpretation and explanation of policies, procedures and regulations. Supervises communications with students, faculty, staff and partnering agencies, to include updates, announcements, enquiries and feedback. Meets with students (if required) to resolve issues related to financial schemes matters and work towards problem solving and customer satisfaction. Investigates and resolves student’s enquiries and complaints regarding the financial aid process Assists in the preparation of training/sharing material and coordination of campus financial aid related events including but not limited to donor bursary interview and open house. Supervises record keeping procedures and processes including but not limited the electronic storage system and archived documents as required by PDPA. Review processes and identify areas for automation and improvement. Assist manager in reporting and use of data for trending and analysis. Brief stakeholders on financial aid services. Performs other duties as assigned Requirements: Degree or diploma in any discipline. Preferably with at least 2 years of supervisory experiences in administration, finance, financial aid/bursary handling and customer facing environment. A detailed understanding of financial aid, tuition grant and audit requirements are nice to have. Strong interpersonal skill with customer centric mindset. Good communication skill. Meticulous, with demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and co-ordinate work volume to meet deadlines. Strong team player. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel. Ability to offer suggestions for improvement to the verification process and monitor system performance.
