Job Description Purpose of the Position The Medical Manager will focus on developing and executing the medical strategy in Brazil and will be a well-organized and results-oriented healthcare professional. This role requires close collaboration with national and international colleagues from Medical Affairs and the extended cross-functional team. The role is office-based and will report to the Medical Affairs – Oncology Associate Director. Essential Duties Job Functions The responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to: Develops and Executes Medical Affairs activities and scientific projects based on the medical strategy and Plan of Action, in close collaboration with other global medical team members. Will be involved in the planning and developing of the local Medical Affairs plan in the Therapeutic Area. Coordinate and execute medical-scientific activities in new indication launch: strategy and product presentations. Collaborate in the preparation of dossiers for regulatory and market access issues. Cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders to support generating and communicating scientific and medical insights. Develops and conducts medical education and communication activities, including digital, face-to-face, and print. Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with our key national external medical experts locally and internationally, including academic societies. Plans and conducts Advisory Boards as needed to obtain insights. Presents scientific and clinical data in a variety of different settings. Supports scientific data generation through collaboration with the Gilead personnel in RD and Clinical Operations, and site support in clinical trials. Provide medical-scientific support to Marketing, Market Access, Regulatory, and Clinical Research areas. Is involved in supporting and coordinating Investigator Sponsored Trials - including collaboration with investigators and internal Gilead personnel. Support and contribute to access/reimbursement strategies and KOL engagement planning. Participate in the development and training of internal staff. Lead and support MS team. Gilead Core Values: Integrity (doing what's right) Teamwork (working together) Excellence (being your best) Accountability (taking personal responsibility) Inclusion (encouraging diversity) Education Experience: The ideal candidate will be an MD, or related to medical sciences, with pharmaceutical or clinical experience in oncology At least 5 years’ experience in a relevant medical/scientific role, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry and with product launch experience Advanced scientific degree (i.e., MsC, PharmD, Ph.D.) Excellent clinical and scientific understanding of oncology With a solid knowledge of clinical research process, treatment landscape, and treatment guidelines.
