As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.Being part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will manage the full life cycle of our berth remediation project, while supporting a team of aspiring engineers by providing ongoing mechanical and structural design and technical expertise.Working Monday to Friday, in a day shift role, you will receive a competitive salary including 14% superannuation, annual profit share plan (bonus), have access to a number of health wellbeing initiatives including our EAP provider, fitness passport, and access to formal and informal training to develop your experience.What Will You Do?As part of this crucial role, you will:provide project engineering to deliver a program of critical remediation works to the 5 BlueScope berths.Ensure work scopes, project budgets, and scheduling are maintained within broad project requirementsprovide guidance and review to external design consultants for mechanical and structural design to deliver the remediation worksprovide expertise in mechanical, structural and civil design engineering to help manage capital works upgrades, overseeing the whole project lifecycle from concept design through to commissioning and handover work with operations, maintenance and regulatory stakeholders to develop maintenance strategies and processes for the future maintenance for the berths.More about youSupported by a Bachelor of Mechanical or Civil / Structural Engineering degree, you will have experience in applying your engineering knowledge within a heavy industrial environment.Ideally you will bring:experience managing medium to large capital projectsproven knowledge and a track record of mechanical engineering design, including the completion and checking of detailed calculations;general knowledge of Inventor and AUTOCAD as well as other engineering analysis packages;good working knowledge of drafting processes;strong safety focus. strong relationship building and the ability to work collaboratively with a team and many customers.Why BlueScopeAs BlueScope continues to go from strength to strength, a career with us provides you with the opportunity to grow and be rewarded.
