Job Description: Job Title Principal Architect Location London Corporate Title Director You will be joining the Group Architecture team as an Architect working on the Architecture Blueprints. You will play a crucial role in aligning the business and technology strategies and ensure the optimal architecture design across functions. The team works with architects across the bank to align technology solutions with business goals. Work includes: analyzing an organization's needs, evaluating existing systems, and designing comprehensive solutions that meet functional and technical specifications using a deep understanding of one or more various technology domains, such as infrastructure architecture, application development, data platforms, cloud computing, security with the appropriate business domain knowledge. You will collaborate with stakeholders, including business leaders, project managers, and developers, to gather requirements and translate them into architectural designs; considering factors like scalability, performance, reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness when creating blueprints for IT systems. Our team define architecture principles to guide solution design, develop the target technology estate to support the organization’s business strategies, develop roadmaps to enable transition to the target estate, govern the transition and provide guidance and support throughout the implementation process, ensuring that solutions are built according to architecture principles and align to the roadmaps and organization’s target architecture. You can expect: Competitive salary and non-contributory pension 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase additional days Life Assurance and Private Healthcare for you and your family A range of flexible benefits including Retail Discounts, a Bike4Work scheme and Gym benefits The opportunity to support a wide ranging CSR programme + 2 days’ volunteering leave per year Your key responsibilities Develop, maintain and curate the Enterprise Architecture blueprints in collaboration with the technology teams across the bank Identify opportunities for simplification across technology and business processes Provide guidance and support to engineering teams to ensure adherence to architectural principles and standards Conduct architecture reviews to assess compliance, identify risks and recommend improvements Collaborate with technology teams to define and execute migration strategies Your skills and experience Previous experience in a thought leadership role defining, operating and driving out architecture strategy Deep knowledge of Financial Services architecture across many functions/businesses Experience in designing and implementing enterprise scale solutions, including cloud-based architectures, data integration and security frameworks Well-developed business and requirements analysis skills, including excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (speaking and listening) and stakeholder management Deep understanding of system and software architectue principles including knowledge of various architecture styles, patterns and frameworks Awareness of emerging technologies and trends, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and their potential impact on the enterprise architecture How we’ll support you: Training and development to help you excel in your career Flexible working to assist you balance your personal priorities Coaching and support from experts in your team A culture of continuous learning to aid progression About us and our teams: Deutsche Bank is the leading German bank with strong European roots and a global network.
