, India Job Family Group: Discipline Engineering Worker Type: Regular Posting Start Date: September 12, 2023 Business unit: Projects and Technology Experience Level: Experienced Professionals Job Description: This role is part of Technical Asset Operations team within SEAM organisation. The role primary function is to provide remote support to Shell Assets in the area of Electrical Heat Tracing design. The Electrical Engineer will be supporting the Asset Electrical Engineering Team and is accountable for the integrity, reliability and operability of modifications/change in electrical heat tracing designs that he/she incorporates as per requests from Electrical Team. The Electrical Engineer will advise the Technical, Maintenance Operations departments based on monitoring of Electrical Heat Tracing Alarms, to ensure safe, reliable efficient operation.Roles and Responsibilities Daily monitoring of the Electrical Heat Tracing alarm systems and analyze them. Perform Electrical Heat Tracing design calculations and develop design change packages for minor modifications to existing designs as per requirements raised by Electrical Team. This also includes modification of existing drawings as per MOCs. Verify heat loss calculations for known EHT circuits that are in alarm on the monitoring system. Carryout Heat Tracing design calculations in preferred software tool as per provided. Update the drawings as per as built for changes mentioned above. Monitor the Heat Tracing Alarms and provide brief analysis on it. Provide support on Pulling trends for the Critical Instruments using live monitoring software and work on to identify root cause and work on solution Provide EHT zone analysis for the associated problems Prepare Initial response, carry out assessment, ensure correct prioritization of work, troubleshoot propose technical solutions virtually, co-ordinate discussion with stakeholders, conduct Risk Assessment, ensure good QA/QC, record keeping, final job closure to enable high equipment reliability plant technical availability Understanding the functions of the various equipment and instruments and also thorough knowledge of reading/ interpreting the engineering drawings (PIDs, PEFS, PFDs). Identifying resolving the bottlenecks for data analysis, maintaining issue logs and use the same in implementing changes/improvements in the processes. Skills Requirements:- Degree in Engineering in Electrical/Instrumentation/ Instrumentation control Engineering / Electrical Electronics/ Electronics Instrumentation/EC discipline. Experience in Electrical Heat Tracing design Electrical distribution, generation and control equipment knowledge Effective written and verbal communication skills Minimum 5 plus years of working experience electrical systems in Oil Gas/ Refinery/Petrochemicals/Equivalent Industry Strong aptitude for Learner Mindset Flexibility to move quickly across changing priorities and manage multiple Projects/Programme Ability to independently, resourcefully, and creatively research and implement new solutions A good understanding of the Upstream/DS/IG business and how it works. Ability to engage and effectively communicate at all levels inside and outside Shell and within different cultural settings. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to challenge and ability to build internal and external relationships based on trust and to integrate across multiple functions. Continuous Improvement and Knowledge of Lean CI methodology is an added value. - Dimensions No Annual budgets which you directly control but can have influence over department and production area budgets. No direct staff, but the candidate is expected to coach/mentor less experienced staff Exposes the individual to all cultural backgrounds and organizational levels, across diverse time zones. The role will involve working in shifts (Afternoon/Evening/Late Evening Shifts) to have enough interface with the asset/plant to be supported remotely/virtually. Ability to work under pressure and perform multitask simultaneously. May involve travelling to various operating units/sites across the globe as per requirements.
