As a Stormwater Engineer in our Water Resources team, you will provide technical and specialist analysis and design support in the area of stormwater drainage, hydrology and flood management for a wide range of infrastructure projects including road, rail and urban development in Africa and around the world.The successful applicant will be required to undertake:Hydrological analysis of storm rainfallHydrological and hydraulic analysis of catchment runoff and watercoursesHydraulic modelling and design of stormwater reticulation systems, culverts, erosion protection and other flood control structuresWater sensitive urban design for water quality controlPreparation of project specifications, bill of quantities and tender documentationStormwater master planning and flood risk assessmentsMinimum requirementsFour to seven years' experience in a similar role - essentialExperience in hydrological studies, hydraulic analysis and design of stormwater drainage infrastructure such as culverts and bridges - advantageousExperience in the design of stormwater reticulation systems, culverts, erosion protection, flood control structures and runoff treatment and management devices – advantageousKnowledge of detailed road drainage design and multi-disciplinary interfaces - advantageous.Experience in the use of drainage analysis and associated design software technology applications (e.g. HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, 12D, DRAINS, PCSWMM, Autocad, Civil 3D, GIS etc.) - advantageousStrong communication skills, both verbal and written.
