About the Team:
The Chef Tech squad is responsible for developing an experience that helps chefs develop their best meals, and efficiently deliver their creations at the highest quality. You'll use data insights, eater feedback, content creation, production coordination, and more to satisfy all the needs of CookUnity's chefs.
Some of the best Chefs in America will be your close collaborators. Not only CookUnity's "rising stars", but also the well-known Chefs we've partnered with this year as part of our Creators Club (e.g. Pierre Thiam, Esther Choi, JJ Johnson, Ali Maffucci, Marc Forgione, Einat Admony, and more!).
The role:
As a Senior Engineer at Cookunity, you will spearhead the design and delivery of complex projects, ensuring they align with our strategic objectives and meet high-quality standards. You'll lead technical implementation, manage project timelines, and conduct thorough code reviews.
Your role involves driving agile planning processes, collaborating across teams to define project requirements, and proactively addressing potential technical challenges to maintain engineering excellence.
Additionally, you will champion innovation, participate in operational excellence initiatives, and mentor engineers, enhancing the team's performance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This position is pivotal in shaping the technical landscape, ensuring operational stability, and contributing to the overall success of our product and business.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement Chef App (mobile) and Chef Portal (web) features (cross-platform development using Expo).
Ensure the quality of our products by contributing to our unit and integration tests.
Improve the maturity of our technical stack with engineering best practices.
Maintain CookUnity’s UI library cross-platform (Web, iOS, Android).
Participate in and improve the code review process and help mentor other engineers.
Contribute technically to projects by being a hands-on coder, removing roadblocks, and repairing technical issues.
Helping to have higher levels of uptime supporting the on-call rotation that will help the business run 24/7.

Minimum Requirements:

You have at least +5yrs of experience as a Software Engineer, and you can engage with projects in ReactJS and React Native
Tested and deployed mobile and web applications
You understand how to interact with and build backend REST APIs
Experience using SQL databases
Proactively identify opportunities to improve systems
Advanced level of English

Preferred requirements:

You're proficient in relational database management.
You enjoy working in small teams in a fast-paced startup environment.
Previous experience leading or mentoring teams is highly valued.
