Fire Engineering comprises of ensuring that the Project Design Team is aware of the implications that their decisions have on the fire safety strategy of the building.Under the guidance of a Lead Fire Engineer the graduate may:•Assist with the development of fire safety strategies (Fire Engineering Briefs, Fire Engineering Reports) for a wide range of projects types in the building sector, infrastructure (rail, road tunnel) and special hazards assessments;•Assist with the development of fire, smoke and evacuation modelling and structural fire calculations as part assessment to support the fire safety strategies;•Contribute to the development of prescriptive and performance-based design strategies;•Assist senior engineers on project site visits and communicate with architects, contractors and consulting teams;•Participate in internal team meetings and external client meetings.
