The RoleOur Rail Team in Brisbane has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Traction Power Systems Engineer / Electrical Engineer, to join our high performing team in Queensland. We currently have opportunities for exciting engineering roles on large infrastructure design and planning projects in Queensland and Australia wide including passenger transit rail, light rail and freight rail, to further developing your technical and business development skills.Your scope of work will range from projects involving feasibility studies, tender designs, problem-oriented projects, detailed design and construction support. The Principal Engineer role provides technical leadership to build and strengthen our professional and technical staff on complex, multidisciplinary projects that deliver high standard outcomes for AECOM clients. The role also provides opportunity to be involved in client liaison, business development, winning work and provide mentoring and career development for other team members. The role provides the opportunity to take lead and collaborate with other parties and colleagues within Australia and also globally, to produce project deliverables to agreed deadlines and standards.As part of a multi-disciplinary organisation, this role will see you collaborating with other disciplines associated with delivery of railway projects, giving you wider exposure and understanding across small, medium and large-scale projects.About YouThis role is suited to a highly motivated engineer who is looking for exposure to local and international mentors to help support and drive their career.10+ years’ relevant, professional experience;Creates an inclusive work environment based on trust and respect. Coaches to develop and maximize strengths of team members.HV and LV experience, with specialisation in Traction Power Design being highly regardedPreferably have power systems modelling and earthing modelling experienceExperience and understanding in applying railway technical standards (e.g. QR, ARTC, Aurizon);An understanding of Earthing and Bonding for Railway systemsKnowledge of systems, such as 25kV AC, 1500V DC, 750VDC, Heavy Rail Light RailSkills to co-ordinate rail design meetings, integrating with other engineering disciplines such as civil, bridges, utilities, drainage and roads;Experience with managing the planning and programming of rail engineering design activities to ensure the most efficient use of resources;Communication skills to facilitate/document Safety in Design or Multi-Criteria Analysis workshopsBusiness development skills in identifying opportunities for long-term relationships with clients
