Responsibilities: The role is responsible for the design and/or implementation of technical solutions that will address the global needs across all GSK business units where successful design has strong financial implications for GSK. The purpose of the role is to automate cloud infrastructure computing solutions that meet the needs of the business, integrate with the existing GSK infrastructure, and align with the stated strategic direction of the server technology environment within GSK. This is a collaborative role, functioning as part of a multi-disciplined team, focusing on providing the lead for IT Hosting Solutions. The role is of a global nature, providing infrastructure solutions to multiple business units supporting over 100,000 users. This will include liaising with business units, industry peers and third-parties to gather requirements, benchmark, and assess needs for appropriate infrastructure solutions to be developed. Competencies Implement new technologies to deliver less complex and more stable and automated solutions satisfying application hosting requirements. Provide leadership and consultation on technical matters to a variety of development functions Estimate the costs, resources, time, and technical requirements of modifying, configuring, and installing the organization’s products and services to meet customer needs. Maintains familiarity with architectural standards and vision, BU IT Technology Roadmap, technical landscape, validation requirements, central service request processes, GSK policies, and other aspects of GSK environment. Supports Cloud Teams Storage/Backup Product Owners to deploy and build new solutions SME for owning Cloud engineering for storage/backup architecture for Block, File and Object and any new requirements Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus. Proven experience as a Cloud Architect, Cloud Engineer, or similar role, with a focus on designing and implementing cloud storage solutions. Strong knowledge on cloud foundation skills with Azure GCP and hands-on experience with NetApp and Rubrik technologies. Proficiency in cloud storage solutions like Azure Blob Storage, or Google Cloud Storage. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Well *** with scripting IaC languages such as python, terraform ansible. Expert in creation/updation of azure devops pipelines. Knowledge of storage protocols and technologies, including NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, and object storage. Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies in a cloud environment. Strong understanding of security best practices for cloud storage, including encryption, access controls, and data governance. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical challenges.
