, India Job Family Group: Maintenance, Reliability and Turnarounds Worker Type: Regular Posting Start Date: Business unit: Projects and Technology Experience Level: Early Careers Job Description: Purpose Accountabilities Enable the teams in preparing preventive, corrective, shutdown/turnaround maintenance activities’ work pack/task lists for static/rotating equipment. Acts as the primary focal point for “first answers” for the Ways of working and technical issues raised by process data engineers and Asset Partners. Lead a variety of improvement projects as required. Building and designing work processes. Develop comprehensive plans for Field Instruments works in accordance with site Safe Work Practices and HSSE guidelines, and include all materials, manpower, work sequencing, rental equipment tools, and entering requisitions for materials and services. Knowledge of non-routine maintenance activities and Prepare comprehensive work packs for maintenance of Field Instruments(transmitters like PT ,TT),Fire and Gas detectors ,Analyzers, valves-CV/ESD/Choke valve, DCS . Building work packs that include detailed description of the tasks that need to be performed for non-routine maintenance of each equipment, parts required, tools required, time required and relationship between tasks including the pre-work preparation steps Job hazard assessment, setting out risks anticipated required while performing tasks and creating Permit to work Planning of end-to-end work orders to enable efficient scheduling and ensure compliance of executable work orders Improving productivity by ensuring the resource, special tool, material, and service requirements availability before the job begins Constantly engage with Project Manager, Field lead original equipment manufacturers, vendors and modify the plan as recommended/required by the asset partners. Anticipate plan for BOM, tools and tackles and manpower required for Field Instruments, if required from the vendors and accommodate the information in the work pack. Network with counterparts and other levels of organization across the different operating units, data centers and develop networks within Shell Review completed work for learnings after completion and close out project. Understanding the functions of the various equipment and instruments and thorough knowledge of reading/ interpreting the engineering drawings (Structure Civil scope, Data sheets, PIDs, PEFS, PFDs, ISO’s). Identifying resolving the bottlenecks and implementing changes/improvements in the processes. Dimensions Adhering to safety by ensuring all work plans are planned in the safest manner possible with a focus on goal zero. Hazards are identified through field visits and mitigated with an emphasis on safe field execution. The Technical Specialist needs to be able to understand and explain to others how changes/improvements in process controls and technical standards need to be reflected in the system. Direct impact on Non-Routine Major Maintenance efficiencies and costs No direct staff, but the candidate is expected to coach/mentor less experienced staff Routine check and analysis of KPIs and PIs ensuring Gap Analysis (If required)to sustain them. Skills Requirements Require BE/B-Tech in Instrumentation and control Engineering/Electronics and Instrumentation engineering Minimum 3 Plus years’ experience with a Maintenance Trade background in Oil Gas /Petrochemicals. Maintenance, troubleshooting experience and Knowledge of Field Instruments(transmitters), Fire and Gas detectors, Analyzers, valves-CV/ESD/Choke valve, DCS . Minimum 10 years’ experience in planning maintenance / construction activities. Labor estimation and cost estimation skills. Supervisory skills in managing team and contract staff – AWARENESS Written and verbal communication skills – SKILL Computer skills - PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP PM MM Module– SKILL Working knowledge of QA/QC requirements. Experience in Technical Data and Documents management including processes and tools. For example, experience in SAP PM module implementation, skill in MS Office tools like Excel. Knowledge of SAP PM/MM is preferable. Strong aptitude for Learner Mindset Flexibility to move quickly across changing priorities and manage multiple Projects/Programmes Ability to independently, resourcefully, and creatively research and implement new solutions A good understanding of the Upstream/DS/IG business and how it works. Ability to engage and effectively communicate at all levels inside and outside Shell and within different cultural settings. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to challenge and ability to build internal and external relationships based on trust and to integrate across multiple functions.
