About Corporate Bank Technology Corporate Bank Technology is responsible for all development and production of applications owned by the Corporate Bank. As such, we support technology centric businesses that work in very close partnership with us and that are fully committed to DB’s IT strategy. We are a fundamentally global organization, and you will work very closely with stakeholders in our international locations. However, the further development of our German location is a high priority, which is why we are continuing to grow locally in Germany with a strong focus on engineering culture and in-house development in line with our communicated strategy. Our strategy focuses on strengthening our technical expertise, introducing an agile way of working, and modernizing the bank's IT infrastructure through long-term investments and the use of cloud computing. Due to its origin, the current client base of the Corporate Bank in Germany is distributed across 2 major system platforms. Thus, a substantial part of the process landscape has not been harmonized yet, which is preventing our business to achieve synergies and limiting new business opportunities. As a Engineer you will be working closely on our IT solutions and designs based on business requirements and in line with architectural and development standards. - You love this job but feel you cannot tick 100% of the boxes? Your key responsibilities Analyse user and system requirements and write clean and efficient front-end and back-end code based on the feature specifications Test and debug applications to validate software functionalities and security Effective communication with the team in an agile context to ensure full alignment on tasks and priorities You regularly conduct peer reviews with your team members to ensure that your code is appropriate, extendable, and reusable You actively engage in engineering community, share your knowledge and build up a solid network Your skills and experiences A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering or mathematic (ideally combined with finance or business knowledge) or extensive working experience in the area. Experience in software development including in-depth knowledge and practical experience in programming languages and tools, especially Java, APIs, databases (relational DBs and No-SQL) and good understanding of popular Java frameworks like Spring and Hibernate Work experience as a Java Software Engineer, Java Developer or similar role and ability to succeed in a largely virtual organization, as well as in-depth knowledge and experience with agile values, principles, and methodologies (e.g., based on SCRUM or Kanban) Problem-solving skills and very good teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills (fluent written and spoken English; German is a plus) What we offer Competitive salary and benefits, including 30 days of holiday Hybrid model of remote work and office days Working at the forefront of financial services technology at scale!
