As a Technician at Penske, you will have the opportunity to accelerate your career while helping our customers move forward. Your main responsibility will be performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse range of vehicles. This includes keeping the vehicles in shape and ensuring they are safe for our customers to use.

You will be working alongside experienced supervisors and master technicians who will guide you through our vehicle maintenance processes and cutting-edge technology. Main Responsibilities:

- Ensuring the maintenance and safety of vehicles for our customers
- Using Penske's tools and technologies for logging, researching, and completing repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
- Performing preventative maintenance repairs, such as tire replacement or rotation, vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles
- Learning new skills through Penske's technician training and hands-on coaching provided by your manager
- Working on other assigned projects and tasks as directed by your supervisor

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair is a plus
- Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience is desirable
- Valid driver’s license
- Problem-solving skills and comfort with using tools
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to adhere to specific instructions and guidelines established by Penske management
- Adherence to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenance policies, including the correct selection and use of tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices
- Regular and predictable attendance is crucial to this job

Physical Requirements:

The following physical and mental demands must be met by all applicants:

- Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and extended periods of sitting throughout the scheduled working period
- Routine and daily use of hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and/or operate required tools or controls
- Ability to work safely at heights using ladders and elevated working platforms
- Ability to work safely in all weather conditions
- Good vision and hearing to safely navigate the work environment, especially with large trucks present
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg
