What will you do in this role?
As a Health Information Technician II (HIT II) in the Health Information Department, you will be responsible for specialized health information activities related to the organization, maintenance, privacy, and use of electronic and paper patient health records. This role requires strong customer service and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to interpret and explain policies and external requirements related to chart documentation, privacy, and release of information.
Please note that this is not a remote position.
In this role, you will:

Assist physicians in navigating the system and completing record/document requirements
Ensure compliance with regulatory, Joint Commission, Title 22, and organizational requirements
Handle internal and external requests for assistance
Monitor documentation completion timeliness
Query and analyze data within multiple hospital systems
Update and maintain documentation status in the completion work queue


What experience and skills are we looking for?

High School or GED diploma required. AA degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Health Information, Medical Records, or a related field required.
Strong medical terminology skills required.
RHIT or other related credential preferred.
Basic knowledge of ICD-9 preferred.
Attention to detail, advanced problem-solving, and high analytical skills required.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
Detailed knowledge of medical record content and chart organization.
Detailed knowledge of documentation and privacy regulatory standards required.
Strong customer service and communication skills. English language proficiency required, bilingual preferred.
Strong data analysis and research skills for error corrections required.
Knowledge of hospital computer systems and EMRs required. Knowledge of Epic system preferred.
