Reports to Direct line to Site Manager/GM
Scope and general purpose To supervise the catering and accommodation on the assigned camp. To undertake complete responsibility for economic control of the facility whilst maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction by maintaining superior standards in operations.
Responsible for Employees welfare and the assets of the company.
Own operational costs.
Liaises with • Camp Manager/GM
• HSEQ Officer
Limits of authority In line with NCTH policy and budget parameters
Main duties Major responsibilities of a Camp Boss are:
• The supervision of food preparation & service within the advised budgetary parameters to company standards of performance & to the specification agreed with the client company.
• Daily observation & control of all cleaning of accommodation & other utility areas like Common toilets, recreation rooms, dining area, kitchens, stores etc.
• Maintaining all relevant records & company paper work within specified time. Complete financial responsibility of the Store. Must be able to maintain the stores as per approved standards.
• Preparation of cyclic menus & the ability to prepare, receive & issue food items as per requirement.
• Control over cleaning materials & disposables.
• Maintain excellent communications & relations with client representatives with a quick reaction to requests & complaints.
• Take complete charge of all other matters & emergencies that may arise on the camp.
HSEQ • Identifying actual potential problems, near misses relating to HSEQ in the delivery of the products and services.
• Identifying opportunities for improvement which may improve the service, make a job safer, improve protection of environment or enable a task to be performed more efficiently.
• Ensuring a clean tidy workplace at all times through adequate supervision.
• Ensuring that the appropriate correction action is taken to ensure that the services are performed at a consistently high standard in accordance with both the NCTH Standards and the expectations of our customers and clients and with risk as low as reasonably practicable.
• Comply with NCTH HSEQ standards.
• Comply with ISO Standards (Food Safety/Quality/Environmental/Health & Safety ), OSHAD & HACCP.
• Comply with Company IMS/Food Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Report all HSEQ/Food Safety related Concerns to HSEQ/Manager/Supervisor.
Irregular duties
• To attend meetings and training courses as required.
• Included in these duties, you are required to perform any other reasonable tasks requested by the line manager.
Educational qualifications A Graduate in any discipline or Diploma holder in Hotel Management or a high school certificate
Professional experience Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a camp boss with a recognized Catering Company. Storekeepers with a basic food & beverage knowledge and at least five years’ experience may also apply. Previous experience in the Gulf is a definite advantage.
