Job Overview

The Network and Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network and security systems to ensure the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of the organization's information resources. Key Responsibilities

Network Design and Implementation:
Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN).
Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices.
Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations.
Security Management:
Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures.
Establish security controls and monitoring mechanisms to protect network infrastructure.
Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
Manage firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security solutions.
Respond to network security incidents and breaches.
Troubleshooting and Support:
Identify and resolve network and security issues promptly.
Provide technical support and guidance to users and IT colleagues.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, incidents, and procedures.
Compliance and Governance:
Ensure network security policies and practices comply with industry standards and regulations.
Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technology solutions.
Implement and manage disaster recovery and backup plans.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or similar are highly desirable.
Proven experience as a Network Engineer and/or Security Engineer.
In-depth knowledge of network protocols, services, and standards (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Strong understanding of network infrastructure and hardware.
Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO********, NIST).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment

The role may require on-call support and occasional travel.

Work is typically performed in an office environment with standard working hours, but flexibility may be required depending on project demands and incident response needs.
