Job Specification UAT environment analyst Background FTSE Russell is part of London Stock Exchange Group’s Information Services Division, which is one of the fast growing divisions in the group. With a strong presence in the European financial markets, and a rapidly growing presence in the North American and Asian markets the company is now looking to increase its market share globally and become the number one provider of index client solutions globally. Key Functions and Responsibilities Reporting to a team lead the candidate will be responsible for Management and configuration of all UAT environments, including scheduling of environment allocation and applications Identifying and automating environment checks Monitoring to catch issues early and thus reduce disruption to and unavailability of environments Tracking deployments rollbacks in UAT environments Maintain a backlog of UAT environment issues and resolving directly or delegating to Support/Development as appropriate Be the first point of Escalation for deployment and environment issues Regular reporting on UAT environment health, improvements, issues and blockers Continuous improvement of environment release management processes, both in conjunction with in addition to other process improvement initiatives Ensure that standards and process are enforced Qualifications/Experience It is expected with limited supervision the candidate will be able to deliver each of the key objectives of the role identified above. It is therefore expected that they will have: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills allowing an ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels within the company, and with external clients/suppliers Excellent problem solving, planning and organisational skills Proven experience of leading the design and delivery of quality automation software Substantial experience in the use of Bash/Python/Go for automation Understand databases (MS SQL, Sybase) and SQL scripting Experience with AWS/Ansible/Jenkins/Git Exposure to Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence) preferred Experience of environments management preferred Excellent attention to detail is essential Must be able to work under pressure and prioritise conflicting tasks to complete them in the most effective way Advantageous Experience: Internet service delivery Real time systems solutions Financial markets experience Public Cloud – AWS or Azure Type of Person Articulate, energetic person able to work alone or as part of a team Excellent attention to detail but an ability to think laterally to solve business problems Ability to learn quickly Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines Creative, results driven, self-motivated, and solutions oriented Demonstrates a can-do attitude, exhibits self-confidence Excellent organizational and time management skills Good interpersonal and communication skills Ability to liaise with business and non business people Experience of managing or influencing key decision makers Able to establish credibility quickly LSEG is a leading global financial markets infrastructure and data provider.
