About the role We are seeking a dedicated Children’s Specialist in Family Violence to be responsible for the coordination of a high quality, integrated assessment and response program for children and young people within the TSA Supported Accommodation and After Hours Crisis Response Services. This specialist role is designed to: Coordinate the delivery of specialist high quality child focused interventions and group work to infants, children and their mothers accessing specialist family violence case management and supported accommodation. Provide specialist child-focused education and consultation to staff to ensure child focused practice is performed to meet the needs of infants, children and their mothers accessing family violence services. Provide specialist support to children unborn - 18 and mothers who have experienced family violence. Ensure that the family violence services address the unique Family Violence risks to child victim survivors. Ensure that family violence services seek to enhance child well-being Work collaboratively with team members and external service providers to provide an integrated continuum of support to children. Responsibilities include Provide Specialist Family Violence Case Management support to children, using tailored therapeutic responses, including individual and group work Engage children, through child specific therapeutic responses to assess development Engage with mothers and children to conduct child specific risk assessment and risk management Provide secondary consultation and guidance to staff regarding children with particular focus on risk and trauma Provide information to families that is accurate and easy to understand Collaborate with Specialist Family Violence Practitioners and other relevant staff regarding access to services for children and family where required Attending family violence and child network meetings where required Advocacy and capacity building of mainstream services in identifying and responding to children affected by family violence This is a permanent full-time position, based in Coburg North, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 6.
