Weir Minerals is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assembly Fitter to join our team at Artarmon. As a Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling Weir Minerals and Warman processing equipment including, but not exclusive to, slurry pumps and bearing assemblies, hydro-cyclones, drive arrangements and valves. Your work will be critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and production processes. Key Responsibilities: Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture. Execution of Pump Assembly production requirements in support of departmental on-time delivery (OTD) and Quality objectives. Support of the Pump Test Bay in fitting and conducting pump performance testing. Support the Lean Engineer in coordination of Continuous Improvement projects using Lean tools (e.g., Kaizen, TPM, VSM, SMED, 8D etc.) as per CI plan. Support in the investigation and resolution of Quality concerns on the shop floor. Completion of supporting documentation and Quality records associated with Pump Assembly Fitting work. Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Fitting to AQF III or above. Prior working experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
