As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will bring a solid foundation in Azure cloud services and a familiarity with Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) environments. This role requires a good understanding of cloud technologies, IIoT applications, and proficiency in automation. Your duties will encompass the deployment and management of our Azure infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with Aveva PI systems and other IoT platforms. You will apply your knowledge of PowerShell, Terraform, and other automation tools to improve system performance and dependability. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including IIoT architects, platform/cloud engineers, operations, and product management, will be essential. What you will Be Doing: Application Administrative Tasks: Perform daily administration tasks on Windows, Aveva PI, and Digital Twin solutions to support our customers. Ensure optimal performance and reliability of Aveva PI systems. 1st Line Support Tasks / Day-to-Day Triage: Manage incoming incidents and service requests, providing first-line support and troubleshooting. Prioritize and triage issues effectively to ensure timely resolution. Operational Focus: Develop and maintain strong relationships with implementation teams to facilitate smooth project execution. Adhere to change management protocols to ensure system integrity during updates and modifications. Proactively identify inefficiencies in platforms and applications, suggesting improvements. SOP Building: Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline processes and ensure consistent service delivery. Enhancing Automation Skills and Embracing DevOps and SRE Culture: Continuously improve your automation skills, aligning with DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. Provide open feedback on system performance and user experience, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement. Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Azure Certification Experience General understanding of cloud services including Azure Cloud, AWS, or GCP. At least 5 years of experience in IT systems, with some exposure to Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technologies. Aveva PI Knowledge significant advantage Basic knowledge of IIoT architectures and platforms, including familiarity with concepts like MQTT, Edge computing, and cloud-based systems. Experience in managing IT projects and collaborating with technical teams to deliver solutions effectively. Familiarity with standard IT practices in networking, system security, and cloud service management. Comfortable using basic IT management tools and some knowledge of automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible). Basic skills in scripting or programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for routine tasks and configuration. Good problem-solving abilities, capable of addressing common IT system issues and finding practical solutions. Strong communication skills, able to work well with cross-functional teams and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Communication Skills: This role requires effective communication skills for working within a diverse and complex organization. The ability to engage with team members and stakeholders at various levels, aligning IT projects with broader organizational goals, is essential. Technical Skills: A keen interest in technology trends is beneficial. The candidate should have a good grasp of basic IT system tools and practices, including some familiarity with automation tools like Terraform and scripting with PowerShell or Python. A general understanding of cloud platforms, particularly Azure, is desirable.
