Maritime Studies (MS) is a flagship program offered at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) and it aligns with our commitment to strengthen Singapore’s position as a global maritime leader and shipping hub. Currently, MS is offered at both Bachelor and Master degree levels with only three tenured/tenure-track faculty members in the MS domain in CEE. Moving forward, we are hoping to expand the MS program by introducing more engineering related courses. It will also reinforce our research capabilities related to maritime and shipping. The joint appointment with School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) will provide excellent opportunity for collaboration and innovation. It will allow the new faculty member to bring their engineering expertise to the maritime domain which will help to foster interdisciplinary research and education. To fuel further development, we invite applications for Assistant Professor (Tenure-track) / Associate Professor (Tenure-track) position in the following areas of Maritime Studies (with Engineering) The specific requirements for the position are as follows. Suitable candidates would need to have a PhD degree in the relevant disciplines with expertise in areas such as Maritime Data Analytics, Marine Environment and Energy, Risk Management, Maritime Sustainability, Human Factors in Maritime Applications, Maritime Digitalization, Maritime Technologies, etc. Previous research experience in the above areas will be an advantage. Candidates should also demonstrate strong and relevant teaching ability and have excellent communication skills. In addition, candidates with experience in the industry will have an advantage.
