Partner with the best In this role you will work as part of a controls engineering team, ensuring that BRUSH delivers products which always exceed customers’ expectations for quality, features, and performance. As Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for: Designing of software for generator and power system control and monitoring systems. Working to high standards of software quality control including use of GitLab and other revision control software Preparation and review of technical specifications and applications engineering for control system projects. Preparing and installing solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards and programming. Developing hardware and software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle. Documenting and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code. Provision of technical support to customers and to Brush sales, panel assembly, testing, commissioning functions. Participating in cross-functional activities such as customer meetings, quality improvements, product, and project review. Supporting sales and service personnel by occasionally working on sites in the UK, offshore and overseas when required. Updating job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organisations. Accomplishes engineering objectives as part of continuous professional development and departmental objectives. Partake in the continuous improvement and development of BRUSH Controls products. The job description is not to be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive and you may be required to undertake various duties as may reasonably be required of you by the Company Fuel your passion To be successful in this role you will: Have Bachelor’s degree in Software, Electrical, Electronic or Control Engineering, Computer Science, or similar related subject. or relevant experience. Have proven experience as a Software Engineer within power, industrial, or automation sectors. Have an excellent written and oral skills Have knowledge of software-based microsystems / control and communication systems including Modbus, Ethernet and IEC61850 Have an high level of competency in C, C++ for QNX, embedded Linux and Windows. Have working to high standards of software quality control including use of GitLab and other revision control software. Have processing and Spreadsheet manipulation. Have good knowledge of WPF, C#, and .net Have ability to interpret electrical power system and switchgear components Have create technical and functional design specification Have an IT Literacy and proficiency in the use of MS Office Packages.
