POSITIONGeneral Manager OperationsLOCATIONLimpopo, Tzaneen, South AfricaSALARYR1 800 000 per annumSUMMARYJoin a leading force in the multinational supplier of fresh fruit and related processed products seeks a General Manager to develop, implement and manage a sustainable business strategy to channel fresh subtropical fruit into export and local markets.RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop a marketing programme, based on estimates providedProvide diverse exposure to growers within each payment pool to a range of outletsManage the pricing strategy and communication of pricing with all customersCommunication with growersPricing benchmarkingGrow supplier base to increase supply availability during the shoulders of the southern hemisphere season (Extend procurement base to balance supply abilities to the markets in high demand periods)Support and drive market Access Initiatives to diversify the spread of fruit to the markets, and limit exposureCreate succession within WMADevelop, Implement and Manage 5 Year Plan and StrategyEnsure that the software platform grows with the business and supports an efficient flow of information between pack houses, ports, and the marketBuild and maintain a centre of Technical Excellence within WMA, to direct new plantings, and build sustainable yields of products that will be accepted in the marketplaceEthical Sourcing and managing and accreditation requirements of the customers MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS BSc / MSc Agric, BCom (e.g. International Trade)15 + Years in a Fruit Business environmentMinimum of 5 years of experience as a Manager within the Fruit Export EnvironmentExcellent knowledge of Excel, i.e. able to do Pivot tables, V-lookup, BI tools etc
