Responsible for the analysis, definition, design, construction, testing, installation, modification, and maintenance of properly engineered information systems, containing software as the major component to meet agreed business needs. About the role Writes new software, makes modifications to existing software, or integrates software applications and modules in accordance with agreed upon specifications provided by others Creates and executes unit testing and integration testing ensuring module meets requirements Executes on provided design May provide technical support to operations or other development teams Creates and maintains all required technical documentation / manual related to assigned components to ensure supportability. Makes suggestions for problem solutions or software enhancements, which will typically be reviewed by a more senior developer. Implements solutions as directed within standards Participates in project planning sessions with team members to analyze development requirements, provide design options, and provide work breakdown and estimates of work. Typically works on one project at a time and as a member of the project team(s) or as part of a specialist cross-project team on multiple developments. Works on smaller, minimally complex projects or a particular system or application within larger projects that requires a singular area of expertise Provides status updates for own scope of work within projects. Participates in internal team and status meetings. Develops software using disciplined software development processes, adhering to team/company standards and software best practice guidelines, and corporate policies. About you Education A four-year degree in computer science or a related field is required. Graduate training in business or technology is a plus, but not required. Knowledge and Skills Technical knowledge should include hands-on design and development of enterprise-class applications including design analysis, and implementation, and testing along with experience with troubleshooting and maintenance activities. Must be able to Effectively balance and prioritize multiple projects and tasks concurrently Candidates should possess: 2+ years of experience development using Python 2+ years of experience in overall software development 2+ years of experience working with a large relational database such as Oracle/SQL and ORMs 2 + years of experience in OOA and OO Design and Development using Design Patterns 2+ years of background in software development using AWS capabilities 1+ years of experience with XML technologies Preferred or Desired Qualifications Working knowledge of AWS services Strong Database Experience with strong knowledge of writing complex SQL scripts Application of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) techniques and implementation using Design Patterns. Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Junit/Mockito and continuous integration testing with Cruise Control/Junit Experience with Build tools such as Ant, IVY, Maven, Gradle, etc. Experience in the extensive use of source control tools such as GIT, TFS, etc. Ability to interact effectively within and across other teams Strong technical acumen and communications skills Background in Test Driven Development, pair programming, and other agile/XP methodologies preferred Candidates should also possess: Skills that demonstrate excellence in a dynamic fast-paced environment with a high degree of flexibility and accountability. A history of meeting aggressive deadlines in uncertain environments and maintaining strong customer relationships.
