As an Innovation Manager, you will lead strategy and execution of the company’s internal Solution development Accelerator. The Solutions combine hardware, software, and services into transformational customer offerings and span devices, control, edge, and information layers. You will be responsible for raising company-wide Lean Startup capability, curating a compelling pipeline of potential solutions, and delivering solutions to market while applying process rigor to support teams in achieving outcomes for customer desirability, technical feasibility, and business viability. Experience will be the determining factor for position level and compensation. What you will do: Lead the Accelerator’s Lean Startup process through Problem, Ideate, Incubate, MVP and Scale phases. Build the Accelerator pipeline with inputs from Industry Solutions, Artificial Intelligence (AI) COE, Connected Applications, Customer Co-Innovation, and Innovation Challenge. Concurrently coach several global, multi-disciplinary teams through each innovation phase by teaching best practices in iterative development, Voice of Customer, business model design, and other Lean Startup methods. Create a repertoire of examples and best practices to share across solutions. Collaborate across the company to create tools and templates, formalizing best practices and enabling teams to act with speed. Provide transparency and visibility of Solution progression through Accelerator phases. Maintains a current knowledge of innovation methodologies, frameworks, and research that may be applied within the company. Develop, track and report activity- and impact-based metrics on pipeline health, customer pilots, and solution revenue. Invest time in the development and coaching of others. Manage stakeholders globally and at all levels of the organization. Ensure alignment between innovation activity and company vision, strategy, and priorities. Foster a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, while simultaneously understanding the needs, process, and mindset of a large organization. Present new opportunities to all levels of the organization and influences others to gain buy-in and alignment. Design and formalize business model templates for long-term success of company portfolios. Guide the incubation of ideas into new solutions and revenue streams. Ensure relentless focus on customer value and market differentiation. Who we are looking for: You have strong facilitation, coaching, and feedback skills. You are comfortable with uncertainty and are able to navigate complex situations with competing priorities. You act courageously in change leadership and management. You foster greater customer intimacy among employees, helping employees deliver solutions for unmet customer needs. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Minimum 8-12 years’ experience with an emphasis on customer outcomes, product development, project management, marketing, strategy, and innovation. Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%. Legal authorization to work in the US is required. Experience defining, creating, and defending business cases. Experience leading teams in Design Thinking and Lean Startup methodologies. Experience developing software in an Agile framework. Knowledge of industry-recognized innovation models and best practices. Proven experience in both large corporations and technology startups. Demonstrated success leading global culture change at all levels of the organization. Experience gaining sponsorship and communicating effectively with senior leaders. *This position is part of a job family.
