Primary Location VIC - Clayton South Job Description Summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Manager based in Melbourne to join our advanced metering team supporting major utilities contracts About the Role Service Stream’s Utilities division are currently seeking an Operations Manager - Advanced Metering to join our growing company. You will be responsible for managing the safe and compliant delivery of services to Service Stream clients whilst maintaining profitability and growth targets across multiple Meter Provider contracts Nationally. About the Opportunity To manage the safe and compliant delivery of services to Service Stream clients whilst maintaining profitability and growth targets. Meet or exceed contractual KPI’s across multiple Meter Provider contracts Nationally that fall into this portfolio ensuring that operational requirements are achieved, comply with company/client policies/procedures and statutory, legislative and regulatory requirements. Nature of position: Permanent / Full-time Location: VIC - Clayton South Reporting Line: National Manager – Advanced Metering and New Energy Key Responsibilities You will bring with the following; Ensuring contracts are operating within budgets and all tasks are carried out to maximise operational efficiencies and effectiveness. Make sound and competent financial decisions for your business unit. Prepare monthly BCRs. Development of strong alliances and relationships with all clients, at the appropriate level, to ensure contract development opportunities are identified. Overall management of all operations to ensure all contract schedules are met on a timely basis Ensure accurate and timely (weekly) financial forecasts Ensure quality of work is in accordance with contractual requirements/KPI’s, company standards and to the satisfaction of the client Attending all relevant customer meetings i.e. governance meetings, keeping copies of agendas and minutes. Ensure action items expected of the company contained in those minutes are adhered to. Overall responsibility for operational issues and to ensure issues are promptly rectified and meet the projects requirements (i.e. IT and Supply Chain, Logistics, etc.) Promote a systematic approach to Health, Safety Environmental (HSE) Issues and adhere to all HSE Policies Procedures Act in accordance with relevant Occupational Health Safety Legislation and the company’s matrix of OHS responsibilities. Management, investigation and reporting of all HSE Incidents in line with Service Stream’s Incident Reporting Process and Client’s own requirements Cultivation of a strong team environment providing support and guidance to Managers, other direct reports and team. Provide coaching and mentoring to operational staff, ensuring all direct reports are trained and equipped with the necessary skills to be able to carry out all duties associated with the conditions of the contract they are servicing Conduct Performance Development Reviews and set performance targets with staff Lead and maintain a positive team - to motivate people to achieve the highest levels of job satisfaction. Accountable for resourcing program across all work types to reach the required levels to maintain the program Accountable for the effective management of work orders across programs Accountable for the availability of stock and materials Resolve conflicts within your group and manage poor performance (i.e.: work practices/output, defects, attendance, punctuality, failure to report, customer complaints etc.) Produce and disseminate relevant briefing, updates and information to all staff and sub-contractors Responsible for the maintenance of the contracted level of auditing of field operatives Prepare customer and contract reports, including Financial, Operational and OHS Reports. Participate in bid teams as necessary. Act in accordance with relevant Environmental Legislation and the company’s matrix of Environmental responsibilities. Perform all specified duties under the Company’s ISO accredited Management System. About You Experience required Current experience in Electrical meter installation and associated services People management in large, high volume operations (operational/field environment desirable) Extensive experience in Contract, Stakeholder and Customer management Organisational and Workforce planning experience Management Systems focus (Quality, Health and Safety, Risk and Environmental) Business, financial reporting and budgeting experience Intermediate level Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint and Outlook Experience problem solving and dealing with complex issues Interpersonal and excellent communication (written and verbal) skills Qualifications required Certificate 4 (or higher) in Business and/or Frontline Management desirable but not essential A Grade Electrical Licence CT Metering Accreditation Drivers Licence Competencies required Minimum 5 years’ experience in contract management or operational based role About Us Service Stream, together with its subsidiaries and affiliates, is a leading national service provider to develop and operate Australia's essential communications, energy and water networks in the telecommunications, utilities and transport industries.
