About the job
This position is needed to help Twilo develop and deliver new capabilities in the Twilio Flex platform. You will be a member of a scrum team who will implement, own and operate their microservices end to end in the cloud. You will be one of the members of the Flex Customer Connect Team and will work closely with senior tech talent in building innovative solutions that will enable Twilio to achieve its goal of being the world’s most trusted customer engagement platform. Additionally, you will have an opportunity to experiment and propose innovative ideas and solutions to enhance the value of Flex platform.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:

Implement, test and deploy Flex features and services in AWS cloud.
Respond to incidents and participate in on-call rotation and participate in RCAs for incidents.
Meet SLA/SLO/SLI for your services.
Meet Definition of Done for the software you build.
Refactor and reduce technical debt in your services.
Write automated unit and integration tests in a continuous integration and delivery environment.
Manage your work through the use of Github, Jira, and Twilio’s build/deploy systems.
Actively participate in Design, Code review, Backlog grooming, Agile ceremonies and work with team members to meet team’s sprint commitments.


Work independently or with your team to troubleshoot/determine resolution for issues in your team's domain.


Be responsible for documentation of projects you work on.
Rapidly acquire new technical skills and knowledge in a fast-paced, highly disruptive industry environment.

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related industry experience.


3-4 years of experience developing Java/JavaScript/React/Angular
Translate software designs into software implementations.
Positive attitude and aptitude to learn and execute quickly in a small team.
Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
Ability to work on-call rotation weekend and holiday hours

Desired:

Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and caches.
Familiarity with DataStreaming/Processing such as Kafka/Kinesis, KafkaStreams, Flink, Spark.
Familiarity with container technologies - Docker/Kubernetes.
Familiarity in solving complex production issues.
Iterative development and deployment, Scrum and Agile methodologies.
Experience developing highly-available, secure, native cloud enterprise SaaS applications in Java
Experience in front end development
Experience building distributed systems based on microservices architecture.
Experience with AWS, GCP or other public cloud infrastructure platforms.
Experience with REST API design and implementation.
Experience implementing automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.

Location
This role will be remote and based in the USA. No travel is required.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

Based in Colorado: $109,280.00 - $136,600.00.
This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
