Job Description: Loans Structured Credit Japan (LSC) is seeking an Associate or VP-level candidate to assist in sourcing, arranging, underwriting, structuring, and executing real estate-related transactions including senior loans, mezzanine and subordinate financings, and construction / development transactions. You can expect: Corporate Group Insurance – premium borne by company Annual health checkup – cost borne by company (once a year; conditions apply) Child care and elderly care benefits – corporate discount through designated child care elderly care vendors EAP – free and confidential counseling, online work-life resources Employee networks – Diversity, volunteering, sports, family care - various activities to participate Key Responsibilities: Source, arrange, underwrite, structure and execute transactions as a key member of the deal team; Analyze potential transactions from a credit and risk perspective, including performing detailed asset valuations and a comprehensive, thorough due diligence review; Perform sophisticated cashflow modelling and sensitivity analyses, as well as analyzing expected returns and performance metrics; Engage in client negotiations and assist with the documentation process, including liaising with internal and external legal counsel and with key external parties including trust banks and asset managers; Explain the credit to key internal stakeholders, and obtain necessary internal approvals; Co-work closely with the loan sales team for loan syndications; Post-closing, continue to monitor the position’s performance as well as monitor and track the overall real estate finance portfolio; and Liaise with loan servicer, agents, and borrower members as needed. Your skills and experience: Strong experience in real estate underwriting, due diligence, valuations, and market studies and analysis; Experience in non-recourse loan structuring and origination; A strong background in identifying, understanding, and underwriting risk; Knowledge of accounting standards, including analysis of financial statements; Excellent verbal and written communications skills for such key tasks as preparing investment committee memorandums, internal reporting, and client presentations; Native Japanese and business-level English; Excellent computer literacy and significant experience using MS Office, particularly Excel; Team player with strong motivation to contribute; and Experience working in a similar role in a Japan-based financial institution or fund is a plus How we’ll support you: A culture of continuous learning to aid progression A range of flexible benefits that you can tailor to suit your needs Training and development to help you excel in your career About us and our teams: Deutsche Bank is the leading German bank with strong European roots and a global network.
