We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our business activities in the region and deliver on the future ambitions of our Minerals Mining team. Working from CGG’s office in Perth, Australia and reporting directly into the Head of Minerals of Mining (based in the UK), the successful candidate will be integral to the growth of our mining business in this strategically important region for CGG and the mining sector as a whole.Working alongside colleagues already present in the region, and new staff that you will help to hire, you will blend your passion for the mining sector, with ambition and entrepreneurial flare, to help support and rapidly scale our business. This exciting and agile role will see you support many aspects of our business activities, including the evolution of our strategy, revenue generation (business development and sales) and strategic account management, day-to-day management and mentoring of staff, and identifying technical and commercial development and application opportunities across the sector.You will be at the forefront of our efforts in the region and as a result will ideally be a known quantity in the mining sector – perhaps through your work within a mining company and/or a consulting group. As a result, it is expected that you will possess a strong and influential network of contacts throughout the industry.Whilst CGG’s business is highly technical, you will not be expected to be a deep expert in any of the technical areas of our business (examples as outlined above), although it would be considered an advantage if you are. Your business savviness, your understanding of the mining sector, and your desire and aptitude to learn more about CGG’s solutions, are the most highly prized attributes you can bring to this role.Given the nature of this position you must be someone that can work both independently and within a varied and international multi-disciplinary team. With the role being based in Australia there will be a requirement for frequent communication with colleagues in other time-zones (particularly in Europe). Domestic and international travel will also be required to support business development activities and associated industry events.  Work as an integral part of our multi-disciplinary and international teamBecome the go-to person for activities in the regionSupport and help evolve the strategic objectives of the team and associated business casesDrive revenue and growth in the region Oversee the delivery of high-quality projects and solutions to our clientsWork with our business development team to maintain a robust opportunity pipeline Strategic positioning with clients to ensure CGG are a ‘go-to’ company and able to support clients early in their decision makingKeep abreast of industry developments to ensure CGG is suitably placed to respond to future client requirements/projects and emerging trendsSupport the hiring of new team membersManage, mentor and coach team members - encourage them to identify, and crystallise, new learning and opportunities in support of their careersIdentify potential sources of RD funding that could help drive forward CGG’s services, help position CGG to secure such funding, and manage/support awarded projects.Support identification of academic and industrial partners and drive associated relationship building and collaboration Identify opportunities for partnerships and MASupport CGG in recognising opportunities to develop or acquire new IP and patents that help boost its technical position in the industry.Support the review of proposals, contracts and other legal documentationAbility to travel and work throughout Australia and overseas as required.Work in accordance with legislative and company policies and procedures.
