About the role As a sourcing intern in Baker Hughes you will learn and understand the purchasing needs of the entire Baker Hughes business, work to find solutions for those needs in Mexico: scout for suppliers, create a supplier directory, screen and evaluate suppliers, attend supplier fairs in Mexico. You will also learn to prepare Requests for Quote (RFQs) to suppliers, understand the key technical requirements and identify the right suppliers to send them to; interact with suppliers to provide quotes in a timely fashion, as well as with engineering and sourcing in the USA facilities to clarify any questions. You will be required to run analytics to monitor the US buy and do “Spend Analysis”. You will learn and be required to classify the buy into the different commodities, and identify the high potential buy for Mexican suppliers. Interact with buyers to figure out solutions for their supply chain. You will learn the sourcing processes in Baker Hughes, learn to audit suppliers’ Quality Management System and Social Responsibility Program. You will be required to manage databases and directories and create presentations of the supplier base available in Mexico. You will be required to support the team in the creation of the sourcing strategy for Baker Hughes in Mexico. You will have interaction with many suppliers in Mexico and will be required to interact with the different levels at the supplier, starting from the owners and including General Managers, Sales Managers, Quality, Production and Engineering personnel. You will interact with the global sourcing team, including buyers, sourcing managers, global commodity leaders, sourcing quality engineers. Desired Requirements Computer Savvy. Familiar with Advanced Excel, MS Access and tools for data analysis. Programming experience (such as Visual Basic, C, Java or other programming languages). Comfortable and open to learn technical information. Qualification Requirements Student at an accredited University and have at least 2 years left of school. Highly preferred students of Ambiental, Industrial, Mechanical or related Engineering. Have maintained a GPA grade greater than or equal to 3.0 out of 4.0 or the equivalent in your country Be fluent in oral and written English Have the legal right to work without restrictions or have company sponsorship in the country you have applied Be prepared to enroll yourself with different activities and projects, being owner of them and having an active voice to be part of the team and the company in a large scale Desired Requirements Microsoft Office – Medium. Excel – Advanced (or learn fast). Microsoft Access – desired (required to learn) Power Point – desired (required to learn) Quality Managements System – Basic. Power BI, data analysis tools – Basic.
