This opportunity is open to full time or part time employmentAs a result of our significant project pipeline, and with an increase in our long-term major projects across Australia and New Zealand, AECOM’s Civil Infrastructure group in the Hunter has an opportunity for an Engineering Geologist with Dams experience to join our team.You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a strong team of Civil Engineers and Engineering Geologists, of all levels. There is also the opportunity to be involved with projects from the earliest stages of planning, ground investigation, design, all the way through to construction and operational management phases.Your experience will enable you to immediately contribute to the team. However, ongoing personal development is a major driver of the AECOM business. AECOM provides support and mentoring locally and from the greater ANZ business to ensure our staff develop the skills and experience necessary to meet and exceed our client’s expectations.The RoleAs part of the broader Australian Dams Team, this role will be primarily technical, supporting growth and ability to resource strategic opportunities in our NSW and Australian Dams team.You will be responsible for:Performing inspections and tests to ensure compliance.Logging and characterising the engineering properties of foundation and embankment materials.Geological mappingOverseeing laboratory testing programsData collation, geological characterisation, analysis and reportingAssisting in the prepare project documentation including reports, project communications, and design drawings and report figures that are of a high professional standard.Generally supporting project teams in achieving stated goals within the Dams team but also to the various business lines within the Newcastle office and the Asia-Pacific region,Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.Participate in developing corrective measures and procedures. Formulates hypothesis, performs research and makes recommendation.Problem solving by use of combinations of standard procedures, modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.Participates in planning required to achieve prescribed objectives.
