Logistics Intern Rosslyn Pretoria North.Our Engineering client is looking for a Logistics Intern. This is a 12-month Internship. The purpose of this position is to provide a graduate with the opportunity to learn and gain practical experience on the job by supporting the logistics team in the delivery of services efficiently and effectively.Position type: Internship – 12-monthsSalary: up to R20 000 per month.Working Hours: 8am to 5pm M-F (Can start earlier)ResponsibilityThe duties of the intern shall include the following which may vary from time to time depending on the nature and frequency of activities:Ensure that goods are received and shipped in the most efficient wayAssist the logistics controller with the creation of shipping documentsAssist in obtaining transport and customs clearance quotationsConsolidate shipments from the same location to optimize the logistics costsEnsure that import and export compliance procedures are followed for all shipmentsCheck the country-specific regulations for the shipping destination and look up the rules on the parts to ascertain no permit is requiredEnsure that SOPs for all logistics activities are followedApply the theoretical knowledge in logistics managementCoordinate with drivers for the collection and delivery of local ordersPerforming other tasks assigned by the Supply Chain Manager and Logistics ControllerSend PODs and customs clearance paperwork to the Accounts, Sales and Procurement departments.RequirementsDegree in Logistics and Transportation/Supply Chain Management/Industrial Engineering/International Trade or related field with a strong academic recordStrong work ethic with high attention to detailFlexibility and eagerness to learnStrong communication skillsPunctual and team playerStrong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools: Excel, PowerPoint, and WordStrong analytical and critical thinking skills
